The Future of Eyecare: OCT

Quick, painless imaging that looks beneath the retina’s surface to spot early signs of eye conditions and track changes over time — keeping your vision protected.

The Future of Eyecare is Here: Introducing OCT

We take the health of your eyes seriously, which is why we’ve invested in the next generation of eye examinations. Think of an OCT scan as an MRI or CAT scan for your retina—but much quicker and completely painless! While a standard photo only shows us the “surface” of the back of your eye, OCT uses “computer wizardry” and light waves to illustrate the different layers underneath. By digitally peeling back these layers, we can see things that simply couldn’t be seen before. It’s like being able to look at the structural blueprints of a house instead of just the front door, allowing us to detect signs of conditions like Glaucoma or Macular Degeneration years before they cause any permanent damage to your vision.

Once we’ve captured your scan, we use it to create a permanent “baseline” for your peepers. Because we can store these 3D images, we can line them up with your future scans to monitor even the tiniest changes over time. It’s all about being proactive rather than reactive, giving you total peace of mind that your sight is in the best possible hands. After we’ve finished with the clever tech and made sure your eyes are healthy, we can get to the good bit—finding you a pair of quirky or sophisticated glasses that you’ll truly love!
